Fundraising Day for Dementia UK

At Data HQ we regularly select charities to support, the most recent one being Dementia UK, a leading network of nurses who help families coping with dementia.

One of our employees, Angela Steadman-Ness, brought this charity to our attention. Her father is in the latter stages of this life destroying disease and to raise awareness and funding for this poignant cause, the family have decided to face their toughest challenge yet... to climb Ben Nevis. Angela, her husband and 11 year old son have committed to climbing the UK’s highest mountain even though they are complete novices.

Angela states ’This is a very difficult challenge for us as a family but one we wanted to face together especially as we’re raising funds for a cause very close to our hearts. My father is a dementia sufferer and, without the care of his nurse, life just wouldn’t be the same. The support and advice they provide is invaluable at this extremely difficult time. I’m really touched that Data HQ have decided to support us and the charity in this way'

In order to support this challenge we held a dress down day in the office and, provided a delicious lunch for all, courtesy of our client Gails Bakery. To take part in this event employees were asked to donate funds to Angela and her family in support of their challenge. We’re looking to help the family reach their sponsorship target of £2500.
